Help Chile

Hey guys!

As most of you know, many parts of Chile are currently in chaos. They need all the support they can get. People are starving with loss of water and electricity. Becoming desperate, a lot of them has started plundering supermarkets and so on. For example Concepción and the areas around are in serious need for help.

In the case of such a big catastrophe, and, being one of the people experiencing it, I want to ask people to please show some support and perhaps help out with donations~

Here are some starter points you can check out...

Other;

On the last page you can find how to make donations via SMS;

  • SMS text “CHILE” to 25383 to donate $10 to Habitat for Humanity
  • SMS text “CHILE” to 20222 to donate $10 to World Vision
  • SMS text “REBUILD” to 50555 to donate $10 to Operation USA
  • SMS text “YOUTH” to 20222 to donate $10 to UNICEF
Some extras:
  • Text the word “CHILE” to 85944 to donate $10 on behalf of International Medical Corp
  • Text the word “CHILE” to 52000 to donate $10 on behalf of the Salvation Army
All help would be greatly appreciated, considering the situation.

El terremoto

Okay, guys..not a very joyful re-opening to my Chile blog, but I feel I just have to start with it again. I haven't been blogging for ages now, so I guess I have a "good" excuse.

So..around 3:30 am local time an earthquake measuring 8.8 on richter scale hit Chile. I live on the 13th floor of a building here. Luckily the buildings here in Chile are built for handling earthquakes, so instead of starting to shake, the building swayed instead. I think that's..a bit better o w o;

Anyway, so..after the quake, Joaquin came to my place and we went outside to take some pictures. My uncle works in one of the national newspapers in Norway, called Dagbladet, and he requested I'd go and take some pictures of the damages..so we did. The hallway outside my apartment looks slightly demolished. The wallpaper has started to loosen and some of the ceiling tiles has fallen down, including a lot of rubble lying around.

A reporter from Dagbladet actually did an interview with me over facebook. And now my picture and my name is/was on the front page of the online newspaper o__o lol..that was..weird xD

There's the article.

I also thought I'd share some of my pictures with you. My neighborhood hasn't taken too much damage, just a little, luckily. I feel really horrible for the people living in the bigger danger zones :(

This is the building I live in. I kind noticed the top windows were tilted. :x

Pt.2

Ok...this is gonna be a long post xD

I'm sorry, I've been really lazy with updating this blog, haven't I? D:
Well, I have seen and done a lot of things since my last post, and it has been amazing. So far I think Chile is great and I barely have the heart to leave .__.

It's strange, because there are so many things that are totally different from my own country, but it is not that hard to get used to, really. But..I owe so much to the people I've met here for making me have an awesome time. Without them, I think being here would be less fun ; w ;

So..to update you guys with things.

I went with Sebastián (ZEBES) to this really pretty hill..thing. It's called Cerro Santa Lucia.
Here are some pictures:

The next day we went to the Museo Bellas Artes with Felipe (just-a-creep).

Later that evening we went to a place called Bravissimo, where they had lots of awesome ice cream :D

I got a pretty Tiara with mine, because it was all priiincessyyyyyy~~~~~~

And..and..we were there with Felipe (DrStein) and his girlfriend Joyce (Joyker). We decided to see who made the best DrStein face.

The original:

Here we go:

Yeah..I look pissed..hahah xD

:DD

We kinda ended up making an expression meme of the whole thing too. Check it out;

And so..me and Sebastián went with his dad to a place called Quintay where we lived in a really cute cabin. It was really nice there! ; w ;

Here's the view from the cabin:

Pelicans!

Yawww, dawgggzzzz xD

Dawgie ; w ;

We ate at that restaurant n____n

After that we went from Quintay to Viña del Mar to visit Felipe (just-a-creep). It's REALLY pretty here :D (yeah, I'm still here)..although, I'm leaving today to go back to Santiago ;0
But I've had an awesome time. There is so much beautiful street art here..and..people aren't staring that much either xD eheh

Well..we went to Valparaíso to check out the Museo Cielo Abierto. Lots of awesome street art!

Here are some pics from Viña and Valparaíso:

See the similarity? >__<

I made a carrot cake.
